I reripped the DVD 4 times but can't find the problem *grr*.

Hope someone can help me...

Best regards

I assume you've tried setting the Movie Offset to 0? If you haven't, and that's the problem, then you easily could have found that out doing a search.

@UltimateDBZ
Thanks for you answer..

Sorry, but if you mean the movie offset under bbMPEG->Movie offset seconds I'm using the default value of 2.

Yes, I see that you are using the value of 2 from your log. The question is if you've tried 0. That value of 2 cuts the first X seconds of audio off, it can solve sync problems on some players, but it might be a reason for your trouble, considering you say it is off by 2 seconds.

@UltimateDBZ

THX! Until now I had no problem with this 2 Seconds, but it seems to be the problem.

I'll try it this night...

Also you can try I dont know if you have tried to rip it with different rippers or not but sometimes that might work. Try it with vstrip and Smartripper and see if that works for you.

OK, changing the value from 2 to zero doesn't change anything (*grrr*).

I can't rerip the DVD, I have only the files on my harddisk.

Is there any Program avaible that can edit MP2 files? Searching anything like CoolEdit, so I can cut the audio track manual.

THX!

To avoid problems like this and get better control I nowadays very often use VirtualDub to correct audio sync problems. First I save a project in DVD2AVI and get the audio -AC3 files. This one could then be converted to Mp3 (Acid/Lame). Then VFAPI gives you a pseudo AVI file that might be well handled in Nandub/VirtualDub. The sync problems might be cured in VirtualDub and the corrected pseudo-AVI file could then be transformed to a SVCD in DVD2SVCD from the pseudo-AVI and the VOB-files. Subtitles can also be better controled with this method.

i've had that problem before. the problem for me was exactly the same i.e. the audio is o.k. on my computer but there was a delay on my dvd player. i got over this by now changing the sample rate of the audio. - it's a dvd player problem

what player are you using ?

TKSoft2000

@hawkie
Of course it is NOT a problem of my DVD-Player, because the player, WinDVD, players of my freinds pley back the Movie incorrect.

ALL other rips I have done with DVD2SVCD are more than perfect!

So it has anything to do with this stupid DVD...

Consider using the method described by doom9 in his "how to fix audio async VCDs"-guide ... he uses "mp3 direct cut" which will cut mp2 audio without reencoding.

hoozdapimp

is the audio off from the beginning by 2 seconds or does it get progressively worse?
if its off and the delay stays constant, then cool edit is by far the best choice
if not, use vdub and use the method described above to try and fix it

TKSoft2000

I can't find the Doom9 guide, but I found "mp3 direct cut".
This Program is much too unexact to cut two sound streams (english & german).

So I converted the MP2 back to WAV :-) cuted the 2 sec. away, and multiplexed again.

The result:
Now the sound is two seconds toofast *GrRrRrRrR!*

From the beginning to the end, always the two second problem...

So I set the Movie Offset to 10 (!) remuixed it, doesn't change ANYTHING! (Function disabled??)

OK,
The original was 2 sec to slow, the cutted 2sec too fast OK...
I'l now convert to WAV, encode bac to MP2 -> Then it must be correct!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

<never had such problems with movies...>

did you check the cut file to make sure it was in fact only 2 seconds shorter than the original file? maybe you cut too much on accident, or maybe you cut 2 seconds *twice* on accident ;)

TKSoft2000

@hoozdapimp
The divverence between uncutted and cutted Video was the same. So I have nor reencoded with TMPG without cutting, sound was too late again.

Will now cut 1 sec off the Stream..

(needs always so much time to encode the audio *grr* 20min each file)

Stupid movie *grrr*

You don't have to cut your audio with external tools. Do a CrashRecovery and set DVD2SVCD to advanced mode in the misc tab and after this go to bbMPEG tab. There you can enter the advanced bbMPEG settings and you can set an audio or video offset (Don't go below 180ms because this can cause problems, instead of decreasing audio you can increase video). So you can continue with muxing and will get another audio offset. If the Audio has the correct length you can repair your SVCD with this method.

@Labersack

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Works really fine with advanced mode :-)
