View Full Version : How to get AC3 from vob's?

I used to make VCD\SVCD and MPEG4 w/ mp3 movies by ripping the DVD with smartripper and then re-encoding with flask/xmpeg + bbmpeg.
However, quite often, I would make a movie with my own language audio and another one with the original English sound + subtitle. On reading those guides on Doom9, I found out I could make a miniDVD (cDVD) using 352x240 and a couple of audio's and subtitle's - all in one movie. That would be great - I thought to myself.
However, this is not an easy task, I mean time consuming. I realized, though, that my work would be easier if I could get the ac3's straight from the vobs. I tried smartripper, DVD decripter and VStrip. But all I got was vobs. I don't know how to manage them yet. So, I wonder how I can get ac3 out of vobs.
Could any1 give me a hint, please?
Thanks

Hi-

Nothing easier-

For Smart Ripper and DVD Decrypter, just go into Streams Processing and pick the languages you want. You can also get them from the vobs on the hard drive by using DVD2AVI.

At the bottom of Doom9's SmartRipper Guide (http://www.doom9.org/smartripper2.htm) is the section on Streams Processing. As for DVD Decrypter (http://www.doom9.org/dvddec.htm), it's about a third of the way down.

The movie is on my Hard Disk.
So I tried DVD2AVI and I made it. Thank you very much!!!
