View Full Version : Mystified By SpruceUp???

I've been using the full version of SpruceUp for some time now with no problems until today. For some reason, it won't take the m2v file of a movie I just ripped. Just skips right over and starts the ac3 file. What's up with that??? Re-installed, same thing. Tried a different movie and it worked fine. Any thoughts???

Also, how come SpruceUp searches my CD-Rom drive and opens the tray every time it launches???

Thanks...

If Spruceup has already read the .M2V once, it doesn't need to read it a second time (gives just a cursory check), so it will look like it is skipping the file. I believe that this is what is happening to you, since the program is reading your audio file. Spruceup will not import an audio file without the corresponding video file.

This occurred the very first time it was imported. Also, it would not let me search through the m2v to add chapter points (because it had decided not to import it). When I hit the play button to preview it, all it plays is the ac3 file. If you try to compile it into a title set, it's done in a few seconds and the VOBs are tiny little things. Win2000 shows the m2v file size at a tad over 4GB. What's going on here???

By your last postings i assume that the size of your m2v causes all the trouble. Most probably u cant have 4gb m2v files input for SpruceUp.

As for the tray check u can disable it in preferences dialog boxes allthough I can't help u much. It been more than 2 years that I gave up using Spruce Up.

Just a reminder regarding the pitfalls of re-installing SpruceUp several times:

Anyway, I hope you get your problems sorted.

There must be something wrong with your .M2V file (you say that another movie imported okay). I'm surprised that Spruceup will import the audio like it did.

Big files are no problem with Spruceup. I routinely import files over 5GB with no problems.

Well, You we right! SpruceUp does seem to have a 4GB limit. I re-encoded, made the m2v file slightly LESS than 4GB and SpruceUp imported it. Thanks for your help!!!

Correction! SpruceUp does NOT have a 4GB limit. I just imported an m2v larger than 4GB. It would seem that my problem may have been that the m2v + ac3 was a hair over 4.7GB. Whoops!
