I am getting a "player is incompatible with the region marking of this disc" error when I test play the authored files in Ifoedit's DVDplay. I did a region free and selected Region 1 and DVDplay will now play up to the menu but if I select play, the same error msg appears and this occurs in chapter selection but not in the special features, which leads me to believe it has something to do with my authored files.

Here is what I have done to the files so far:

Stripped all files using DVD Decrypter, Reauthor the main movie file, compressed it, reauthored it using DVD Maestro, rename the files and replace the orignal ones except for the vts_01_0.xxx files, Ran Ifoupdate and correct the VTS sectors, and ran region free.

If anyone can figure out what I did wrong or point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Load the .ifo files into IfoEdit and click the Region Free button. Save your edited .ifo's and you're in business. dvdRENEGADE

sometimes region protection is found in multiple ifo files, not just in the video_ts. if you load each file one by one and hit the region free button, that should do the trick.

Thanks for all the info. Turns out there was RCE protection hidden in one of my .ifo files. Region free it and save and all my problems went away. Thanks again.
