I've been trying a really long time now and getting pretty annoyed. Some movies that I encode from avi to vcd/svcd are just wrong.
It seems like a speed problem, the video is not the same speed as the audio. The video is much slower. The audio is the right speed, but the video is NOT!! Why? And how do I make a movie without this problem?

You have a video/audio sync problem. Please use the search button to search for this topics as it's been covered many times and all suggested solutions are available using the search button.
Also in the future please read the forum rules and suggestions on how to post a problem. This will help you get a quicker answer so it's in your interest.
If you still haven't figured out how to fix it, post your specific case in the DVD2SVCD basic forum and an explanation of what you have already tried so we don't waste time telling you what you should already know.
Finally, here's something to start you on your way because I'm tired of seeing people just telling newbies to use the search button without giving them a starting place or some assistance to get them started.
-------------------------
AVI to SVCd using DVD2SVCD is not guaranteed, even by the author, to work perfectly. Still it usually works pretty well. Check the source .avi file to ensure you have proper sync. Don't use Windows media player as it doesn't corretly do sync. Use WinDVD or PowerDVD if available.
There are two common sync problems. 1) audio and video durations don't match, thus resulting in audio getting "progressively" out of sync. 2) Audio and video durations match, but audio starts early (or late).
http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com
has a very clear guide on fixing audio synch problems, including a link to a great piece of s/w called aviinfo that can simplify your life if you have the 1st problem. Fixing the second poblem requires using virtualdub and is nto hard.
All this assumes that your problem originates in the .avi source file. If you .avi file is ok, but your SVCD is out of sync, I suggest you post what method you're using to burn and we can go from there.
Good luck.
