Scenarist :
I got an Commentary audio track in my amature movie.
How do i play the movie soundtrack and the commetray at the same time?
Can i turn down the volume of the movie soundtrack to 50%?
Or do i have to make a AC3 track with both the movie sound and the commanraty?

I see no way to do live mixing of two soundtrack in a dvd player and cannot believe it's part of DVD Spec.
You need to author a mixed soundtrack I think.

1. it's impossible without first mixing the track or ...
2. ...alternatively you can make both tracks mono and let the ac3encoder of scenarist make a left and a right channel out of it in 2/0 mode. You can then decrease the volume of left or the right channel, but in this case you can't hear both audios from both speakers. Whatever you prefer.
3. If you're nuts (like me) you can make a 5-channel-ac3-track that plays 4 commentaries from 4 speakers separately and let the moviesound come out of the LFE hehe

I think i will reauthor the soundtrack, 50% volume on all 6 channels (including LFE) and then mix the 50% volume speach on the center with the 100% volume commentary speach.. that's my orginaly plan, i just wanted to check with you guys first if it was possible to mix tracks
(to save space on the DVD)

Very nice jacket ! I love it ! I would just have not add the barcode as I hate that and often remove it from original jacket !
If your movie is available somewhere in divx or something highly compressed I would be pleased to have a look.

as i see it ac3 is a final (end) product, that you'll have to decode to wav and then mix it with other tracks using almost any 100 kb audio prog. Then encode it back to ac3. This means you'll twice have a loss in quality depending on the quality of the decoder and encoder. But then, who cares about quality when listening to an audio commentary? It'll work for sure.

why should i gain any loss? I use the my source 48khz wavs.. i dont need to decode anything... only encode..
