"So far, I don't like it, and the only way to uninstall it is to have a restore point created (which I did before installing it). It won't play very high bitrate MP3s correctly to the real length of the song. For example, I have a soundtrack highly compressed to almost a 500 bitrate, which makes the time length go from what would be a normal 47 minute total time to 19 minutes. Seems like the media rights installer is broken as it won't play anything at all, even files you have every legal right to like wedding videos, TV captures, porn you've paid for and downloaded, etc. Basically, I haven't been able to play any previously encoded files.

Conclusion so far: there are other media players out there.

Now you can find it from microsoft ( http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/player.asp for player and http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.asp for encoder ). It propably has an uninstaller, while the leaked build from winbeta.org or similar doesn't have.

The ME XP version doesn't have an uninstaller.
Your supposed to use system restore to uninstall.

get WMP8 back .

Total time on system... Under ten minutes...

Too many resources are used to play anything... Even Mp3's sound like crap...

Granted this is a shitty computer, but it's not THAT bad to not be able to play an MP3...

600Mhz P3 with 128 Meg o Ram Compaq...

The media player will NOT play files with the DivX extention as wmp7 would do... And on top of that... it removed the YUV2 layer...

So.... I hope that this answers come questions...

But one positive thing to say... It's nice looking and it takes you to the page to see the Halo2 Preview... Looks SWEET... too bad it didn't play better:)

I agree with Mrafrohead, I fiddled with the encoder and it's incredibly slow and bloated and I'am not reffering to the encoding process per se.

A command line encoder would have been great!

I found that WMP9 seeked through files quicker on my PC, though i am getting alot of movies/anime eps that are usually 24mins long are coming up at 3hrs50mins long :confused:
Does it on my GF's PC to

I've download it and tried to use it but it sucks....it's beta after all.

The godam prog wont even seek my divx's....sssshhhheeeeeessshhh

I'll stick with zoomplayer thanks.
