AVS error

CCE won't finish. Here is the message log. I do see a .mpv file created and seems to contain the whole movie.

In case you cant tell from Ultimates reply. Smartripper is your problem. DONT USE SMARTRIPPER UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. I fyou do you are going to have problems. Use the internal routines or vStrip. There is almost no movies that require you to use Smartripper to rip it. In the last year or so that I have been doing this I have never needed to use it.

I am sorry if my response was abrupt. Its just that after you have been here for a while you get kinda burnt out about people asking how come I have audio asych, how come I am having this weird problem. When if they looked they would see the guide here says many times not to use anything but vStrip and the internal routines. Also if they did a search most of the time they would come up with the same answer. I am sorry if I came off as being mean. I just want people to read the guide and do a search before they post here about something like that.

Thanks for the reply. But now the dvd is already returned and what can I do now? The dvd is ripped to my hard disk by smartrip. DVD2SVCD thinks video encoding is not finished but it is actually finished. How can I make DVD2SVCD to continue with the next step?

The machine I used to run DVD2SVCD does not have a DVD drive. I use a laptop that contains a DVD drive to rip the movie through network then convert to DVD2SVCD. Can I still use internal rip routine to do the trick?

if you're just interested in finishing the process for this movie and can't get DVD2SVCD to recognize the error recovery log (or it doesn't work), try to do it manually. Otherwise you're goign to have to iether re-rent the DVD and let internal routines do it (which may not fix your problem) through your network approach or wait until the next version of the s/w to eliminate that error.

Manual finish:

If you have a completed .mpv file, run pullodown.bat (in your DVD2SVCD directory) on it to convert the frame rate to NTSC (it's film after CE gets doen with it). Then use BBMPEG to mux the resulting pulldown encoded .mpv file and the audio file into an .mpg file. Then to author to SVCD using VCDEasy, which gives you a lot mroe felxibility anyway since you can add your own menus from stills or whatever.

There are multiple guides on this site and also at www.vcdhelp.com, please use the search function to help yourself out.

The other option that you have is to use the internal routines to rerip the movie that is on your HD. Here is how you do it

1) Make a folder on your HD that has all the vob and the .ifo files.
2) Open D2S and select internal routines. Then select the .ifo again. Then set all of you setting to whatever you would like to use. Select a different folder, then the one the rip is in, to output the completed movie too.
3) Hit go. What it should do is rip the movie again. Using the internal routins. Make sure that if you cut some cgapters from the movie using Smartripper that you also cut those from the movie using the internal routines. If you dont D2S will give you an I/O error as you are telling it to rip something thats not there.
