New version, new name :)
v0.12
- Changed the whole "get things" engine. Written by MarcFD, 50% faster than v0.11
- Major code clean-up. Filesize now is 20k smaller
- Added ccintra.txt output which shows the consecutives I-frames
- Fixed a bug where the 1-pass size was being show negative
- Added report in MBytes of 1-pass/scaled/actual size
- Fixed some ugly hacks in the code. Now the program is 99,999% accurate
- Fixed some messages in analyze.txt
- Changed the executable name from dbg.exe to xda.exe
You can get it from the link in my signature

@MoonWalker
Another good news today! ;) That's just great. Thanks (and special thanks for reporting consecutive i-frames in your analyzer :)).
kindest regards,

I already browsed the log file (dbg.log) created in the 2nd pass, and all seems ok.
Can anyone test xvid analyzer to see if the problem is mine?
Marc FD
4th September 2002, 17:51
can you test with the 1000 first lines only ?? please.
if it's not working, please attach the 1000 first lines (compressed)
this result is the typical result you'll get if it's have no 2nd pass lines at all.
(you can mix 2nd pass and 1st pass line one log, the engine will sort the 2nd pass lines out)
PS : and it's already tested ;)

Hi,
I get the exact same output. The logfiles I tried it on worked perfectly with earlier versions of the analyzer.
Using only the first 1000 frames doesn't help either.
Here's the second line (that's the one after the "middle frame size for..."):
00124211 00:50:34 [1096] 2nd-pass: quant:4 H.263 intra stats1:3647 scaled:1614 actual:3623 overflow:0 movie
Maybe it's the timecode in the second column? It's part of a larger logfile which contained multiple movies in a row, so that's why the framenumbers and timecode don't start at zero.
Marc FD

it's not the problem.
what version of DebugView are you all using ??
i think the bug come from that (i've already alternative code for 2 versions of DebugView  )
whatever, .stats file reading seems ok :)
if you want to help, cut the 100 first lines of the clip, and attach them. thx.

@All
Do you created you log file by copy-pasting a longer one?? If you done so you have to delete the spaces at the start and at the end of the file

Sorry for not posting sooner, but when i made that post i was at work, and then i left.
I am at home now, and here it works very well, so it must be something with the created log file i had there. It was a 2nd pass logfile, but i had left the computer when it was being made, so something must had happen when i was away. I will test more when at work tomorrow, because in my comp at home all goes well.
I want to apologize MoonWalker and MarcFd for questioning their great piece of software :o

Sorry for keep coming with this, but i got the same error here at work again. In my home (WinXP) it works very well, but here (Win95B) i have the same problem. I have downloaded the latest debugview (4.2), and made a fresh new 2nd pass, then saved the dbg.log, and loaded it to xda.
Could the problem be Win9X?? I kept both the log file and the created files.

@MoonWalker and Marc FD
I want to thank you one more time for this great tool before I ask you one question, arising from the content of the report file from my latest encode (avisynth 2.05, 04092002-1 build, statsreader 1.6).
The encoded movie had 282868 frames, whereas it is reported 282855 frames in the report file (which is of course negligible imho, but just wanted to inform you about that).
And secondly, the ccintra.txt below:
Start Frame | End Frame | Number of Consecutive I-Frames
-------------+-------------+-------------------------------
35225 | 187749 | 3 Movie
199869 | 225373 | 5 Movie
225403 | 225448 | 8 Movie
225916 | 225920 | 4 Movie
278656 | 278660 | 4 Credits
278774 | 280882 | 11 Credits
Total Consecutive I-Frames : 35
It has some sort of inaccuracy as I see regarding start and end frames (while it may well be possible that I cannot read it correctly)?
best regards,
iago
Marc FD

okay i know what the problem is :
my engine assumes xxx xxx (timescodes) [xxxx] (4 digits : thread number)
but the last DebugView (i didn't tested it) shows [xxxx] (name of the thread)
i will correct that in the engine.

Sorry, I forgot to say that, yes, it was the last version of DebugView.
Thanks,

Could you upload it somewhere zipped?(WinRAR prefered)...There must be an error, but I didn't find one with the logs I have analyzed.

The problem is with the Win9x..Look at the debugview output..
WinXP/2000

00000007 0.00720480 [Virtuald] 2nd-pass: quant:2 H.263 inter stats1:91 scaled:91 actual:943 overflow:-5988 movie
Win9x seems to display the thread instead of the timecode..So here is the bug...Will be fixed as soon as possible..Thanks rui for reporting :D
EDIT : Temporary solution to you rui :)...
1) Open the log file in Word
2) Replace all the [Virtuald] with [1234] (This would be very slow :) )
3) Save it and analyze it
This should work :)..

Unfortunately I cannot, because the file is ~6mb winrar-zipped (it's a long movie: 3hr-8min) and my web site doesn't work either due to band-width limitation :(.

Fixed.
the engine is updated now.
it's uses resynch, so you shouldn't any any bugs more.
just wait for v0.13 (maybe with .stats files info. ;) )
now cases like :
xxxx xxxxxxx [virtuald] <<XviD dbg line>>
xxxx xx:xx:x.xx [xxxx] <<XviD dbg line>>
would work.
