this is infact a problem with vobsub
===========================================================
this appears to be a problem with mostly with vobsub not getting good colors out of the ifo. it may be a bug in either program, or could be me not knowing what to do.

Im trying to rip "irresponsible Captain Tylor, Disc1". The disc is laid out as multiple PGC's each with it's own subchapters.

What i am trying to do is rip each of the chapters off the disc individualy. then encode them. I know that Smart ripper can do this, but it screws up subtitles.

IFOedit works on the first episode, allowing me to correctly rip the subitles. but the other episodes refuse to work with vobsub.

what i am currently doing:

1) rip dvd with smartripper in backup mode
2) open vts_0_0.ifo
3) strip vobids for all but the episode i want
4) ifo with vobsub

vobsub generates output files, but they dont seem to be valid.

why dont u use subrip?

Been working on xfiles seasons now and fitting 6 episodes per DVD instead of 4. Subrip allways gives dependable results.
