i take it since the surcode mlp encoder is not out yet that no one has had a chance to do anything with this encoding method, but in case anyone knows anything about it i have a few q's:
what frequencies will it take - ie can we use it to replace an mp3 for cd encoding?
since you can do software encoding there must be software playback - if so can we decode mlp to wav? is there any software out for this yet? anyone working on a besweet equivalent for decoding etc?

mlp specs are pretty much closed.
supported sample frequencies includes 48khz,96khz,192khz. bit-depthes includes 16bit & 24bit, channels count includes 2,5.0 & 5.1.

but, just like dts, that's not much we can do about it.

btw,
since mlp is a loseless format, compression gain is much lower comparing to mp3/vorbis/etc'...

it also supports 44.1khz.
