I have never had any problems with dvd-media (pioneer, apple, optodisc, datatreck). Now, for the first time, i bought Vivastar dvd-r, they play on my pioneer dvd player, but not on my yamakawa. The end of my last burn did not even play well on my pioneer...

Are any other people having problems with vivastar dvd-r?

Hello, a few weeks ago i bought one vivastar dvd-r 1x-2x for general and it just work on the dvd-rom. I had made a backup of Crocodile Dundee and doesnīt work on the standalone. The steps i took where the same i used before. Same burning soft.( Nero ) and same dvdrecorder( Pioneer ). At the label sais 1x-2x, but i couldnīt burn it at 2x.
Perhaps it was only this disk, but i wonīt try again soon Vivastar disks.:(

In Germany, Vivastar are more expensive than Verbatim (!!). Somehow rediculous.

I quite often use Vivastar DVD-R and can't say that I've had excessive problems. I think the last lot cost me about Ģ0.60 a disc and I play them in a Cyberhome, Alba & PS2. I get the occasional hiccup and ofcourse they will only burn at x1 speed, but apart from that I have always found them good value. Maybe I'm just lucky with the players at home which seem to be compatible.
Happy Ripping.

I haven't been so lucky.

None of my Vivastar DVD-R can play without freezing at the end (usually after 50mns)

Some of them will not even play at all.

Most of them could not even be read the last 2 vobs files in the burner itself.

I always bought Optodisc at a reasonable price of 3,4Eur ,never had any problems unless I messed up, lately I started to check the brand of these dvd-r's with Advdinfo and "surprise" over half of them were Vivastars others were GSC (don't know the brand), but they never failed me on my Pioneer 444. Now I bought also the Vivastar dvd-r 1x-2x for general use at 3,3Eur but I still have to test them.
Will keep you informed.

I had 40 of them, silver top ones, I used till now nearly 30.
Burned perfect with 104 dvr (1X) and all played also perfect in my standalone Pioneer 444.

Ok I tried out my Vivastar dvd-r 1x-2x for general use and I had bad results on my Pioneer 444, pixelation and freezing.

Tried a second burn 1x speed play's fine.
I do think I did something wrong in ifoedit with the first one
