View Full Version : Can't append video segment

When I try to append a video clip with another video it gives me this error: "Cannot append segment: The video streams have different sampling rates (29.9700 vs. 23.97600)

Now I've checked both video streams with Vdubs file information button and it says they are both 29.700...so why is it giving them the above error?

Is there anything I can get to trick Vdub to allow the file to be attached, if there is nothing I can do?

...Only wasted another day of effort. But thanks the effort is appericated. I've tried doing what they said in that post, plus other things...I just cant get it to work.

Vdub keeps telling me the frame rate is different even though I changed it..

Which program did you use to change it?

Try http://www-user.tu-chemnitz.de/~noe/Video-Zeug/AVIMux%20GUI/

Open the file you want to change the framerate of, rightclick on it, call the information dialog, rightclick again, set framerate, apply changes => ready.

Open the first avi
Video -> frame Rate
Change to "29.970" fps
Audio & Video Direct Stream Copy
save the file...

do exactly the same with the second file... now you're able to append your files

sill: Why do you want to save the file? AVI-Mux GUI can set the new framerate without resaving the whole file.

because I like vdub and because it's as simple as watching tv :D

but nevertheless I've downloaded this tiny app and will give it a shot...

Virtualdub is giving me an error that the frame rate is ... .0001 OFF! (all verisons of Vdub) That's with 23.976 which turns to 23.9759 for some reason.

So now it works when the framerate are both 25 and I had to get rid of the audio for both of them. I think I can manage to patch the audios together. I think I almost have it though, finally.

You probably can do this with Aviutil (I usually join captured videos which are diferent framerate sutch 24.97 with 25.03 or something like that). Virtual Dub don't want join then, but aviutil do the job perfectly.
With your so differente framerates I donīt know if the join will be possible, and the results...but you can try it.
