Ok I've found a solution to my problem on
http://pioneerdvd.firmware-flash.com (thank you guys)
They mention v4.7 from adaptec is crap, I've installed v4.6 and Advdinfo works again.

My hardware:

Pioneer A04
ASPI (tried 4.6, 4.7)
Windows xp (maybe this is the reason....)

Sorry, but there is not enough detail.
I mean how many HD's, burners, where they are (master/slave) ect. I have read somewhere in this forum, that it is best to put the burner on the 2e ide as master. Is your a04 in dma? Some suggested to put the aspi in the same dir as Advdinfo.

im' geting a little confused ber. I thought any dvd drive can use advdinfo????? does it have to be a burner? I'm sure the lens used to read dvds can't be different from a burner to a dvd-rom drive?

Anyway, my burner is in PIO mode as of now from DMA...I had to switch to make it burn properly.

I have 2 hdd's.

1) 20gb (master)
2) 120gb (slave)

on 2nd IDE

1) pioneer a04 (master)
2) DVD Rom (slave
