...i load the clip with the DirectShowSource command instead of MPGSource one...
MPG files heve been encoded with dvd compliant settings in DPS's Velocity editing software. it's 720*576 pal interlaced colored video.

So, as u may understand i'm newbie with avisynth (discovered yesterday)

I certainly need some plugs that i don't know.

Did you have a question or are you just rambling for fun?

Read your first post again, do you see a question anywhere? What I thought you were trying to say is that you loaded an mpg-file with MPEGDecoder (the one from Nic). Is that correct? This mpg-file, is that an mpeg1 or mpeg2 file? How does your avs-file look? Are you able to open this avs-file in VDub?

Ben,

if you think this isn't the best forum, then leave and go to your eleet boards.

Those people understand your attitude, maybe they're retarded like you.
(SCNR, but if you insult people, you have to get something back.)

Stop blindly demanding things here and insult the people who give you the stuff to play with! Your initial post is crap as your answer.

What do you expect?

My favourite line was:
"I certainly need some plugs that i don't know"
:)

Seriously though, I can understand the language barrier is a problem, if you are having a problem with MPEGDecoder.dll, could you tell me about your source MPEG file & your avs script (basically what Wilbert said :) )

Cheers,

@Nic

Thanks for the reply and the newer version. It performs differently in that it still stops at the same point before the end but then slowly ticks to the end of the file but without updating any pictures. I am going to upload the VOB and then post an URL this evening, as you requested.

@BeNBeN

I will certainly try to use my brain in the future. Sorry for any offense. I'm sure it is just the language barrier that is baffling me.

Oops, i read a "Those forums aren't the best on the www" while you actually wrote "Those forums are the best on the www".

So sorry for the first rant. The second is still valid. Don't insult people if you want help!

ok, end of story.

I'm sorry to tell but the BeNBeN account is used by 4 persons.
I'm the one BeN and others are co-workers.
I really do feel sorry about what's happening here and will create accounts for my buddies(exept one).
Those men aren't aware of the amount of great work you burn every day, i think i do and respect it.

In france we say "Mice dance when the cat's away"
The cat is back and no more misbehave will occur.
My co-worker's problem with AVIsynth wasn't one , i agree with that.

thanks for bothering anyway.

@neuron2:
Thanks alot :) yes it ticks over, thats quite bad really, what its doing is waiting for new output data, if it doesnt get any it just outputs the last frame again (which is ok-ish, because it stops crashes on frame over-estimated files)

It would be better if it didnt slow down, I can do that easily, I hope it didnt overestimate the number of frames by too much...

Ill check it out as soon as you put up the link :)

Thanks again,
Cheers,

@Nic

That makes sense. But here's the thing...

The number of frames gets counted correctly and it shows correctly in VirtualDub (316). But the video stops at 256 and then slowly ticks to the end. I know there are 316 good frames there from using DVD2AVI and saving out to an AVI, then stepping through. I am going to compare frame by frame to see if any are being dropped when played by MPEGDecoder. And I'll upload the VOB this evening.

A big error even for guessing in DirectShowSource type processing. But 256/316 = .81, suspiciously like having Force Film turned on. ??

Hmm, yes, Tom. Very suspicious.

Does MPEGDecoder correctly handle MPEG2 repeat_field flags (for 3:2 pulldown)?

I'll do some experiments centering on this insight.
