No matter wich region I enter for a movie, it becomes region-free when it is burnt.
I use Maestro to compile the movie, and Nero to burn it.
How can I make a film that is limited to a specific region?

Why do u use Nero for Burnin ????
Maestro has all you need for compiling and burning.
Pioneer A03 works fine with maestro.
If you want to set a region in your DVD you must:
1. compile your project.
2. create an image file and you can only set the region at this time.
You will get an .img file
3. Burn this file with Maestro or any software.
I have tested Nero without success and only 20% works on standalone DVD players.
Try also Prassi PrimoDVD.

Thanks for the suggestion!
That should explain why some of my DVDs don't work on my Sony DVD-player...
Unfortunately, I can't get the Pioneer 104 to work with Maestro (any tips?). I will try Prassi as soon as I figure out where to download it.

I have been told by other forum members that DVD Decryptor will write DVD-Rs from Maestro image files. I have not yet got around to testing this yet, though. It's worth a try...

to mad dog :
if you really want to make dvd specifig to one region (even if i dont see why), you can use ifoedit on video_ts.
go to vmgm_mat, offset 23 and enter one these values :
region free:$40 (64)
Region 1:$FE (254)
Region 2:$FD (253)
Region 3:$FB (251)
Region 4:$F7 (247)
Region 5:$EF (239)
Region 6:$DF (223)
Region 7:$BF (191)
Region 8:$7F (127)
and you can use any hexa decimal editor around ...
