@InThaHouse: so you want to use the xbox as a very expensive dvd drive? from what i gather, you want to take the dvd files and rip them using the xbox and then transfer those to the computer...why not just get a dvd-rom and use any of the good rippers available for the computer?

@Koepi: if he's backing up his own stuff, then that pretty much falls into the category that most people on this board are in.

True, but that still involves chipping the xbox, etc, etc.
i.e. not the kinda stuff we should get into on this board...there are other boards for that.

Use your Xbox to rip and encode? In gods name why? It is a slow as hell 700Mhz system. Perhaps you could be 1337. Unless by some quirk of fate you could not afford an old 1Ghz+ system it would seem to be totally futile. To each their own I suppose.
