hi there,
Well I dont know if the subject has a meaning,
but what I mean is :
would it be possible to add a link for the news (in the site) to a thread in the forum to discuss this particular news.
It is already used sometimes but not everytime.
It would be especially interesting for non software news as there's already a category existing for each type of software.
But for todays news like "kiss announced that it will use sigma's chip etc.." i thought it could be interesting to have a link like :"you can discuss it here" that brings you directly to the corresponding thread in general discussion or anywhere else (created when the news is published or before). I saw that in rage3d site and I thought that ll be a fast way to discuss news without getting lost in the forums to find the good thread.
Well that's it, just my 2cents;-)
Anyway the forum is great without that
good job!

Cheers

good idea. Since there's no direct link via forum and news it will involve some manual work and since I tend to post multiple things together I'll have to think where I can actually realize it.

Yes I know you're updating the news manually so it would unfortunaltly take more time to prepare :D. As for your last question, if I get it: "where to put it" , I was just thinking to put the link at the end of the sentence :D . If I take yesterdays's news again:

SolidVob.com is a website that lists contents of DVDs (VTS sets and VOB IDs) (discuss it).KISS has announced that it will use Sigma's latest decoder chip in their upcoming DVD players. These players will be capable to play MPEG-4 (including DivX - if it's MPEG-4 compatible so count DivX3 out), MP3 audio and WMA audio. The players will also have an internal harddisk for direct video and audio file storage, progressive video output and HDTV output(dicuss it).

I guess that's all I can say about it:D
But as you said the most annoying part is the extra time it would take to put the links manually if there's no script to create a new thread and put its link into the news.
(Sorry if I got your questions wrong.)
