I am creating mpg files in TMPGENC 2.57 after using DVD2AVI. When I import the mpg file in Spruce Up, it works just fine. But then, When I Compile the project, after the 100% completed screen, the following message appears "there were problems in the source video files". I play the DVD on my stand alone and the video only plays until certain time, about (1 hour and 3 minutes), and then, the DVD just refuses to continues playing (it freezes). The audio is in sync and everything else is fine, but what could be the problem?

Is is the source mpg files?
Or is it that Spruce UP doesn't support big mpg files (over 4 GB)?

What could be the problem?????

Thanks.

my guess would be the mpg, try bitrate viewer on it and see if you can see any problems.

Spruceup can handle large files. Make sure that you have enough free space on the drive to save the compiled files. Empty your RECYCLE BIN, because these files will remain on the drive (and take up space) until removed.

Have you exceeded 9.8mbps bitrate? As I've mentioned many times on the forums, TMPGEnc is notorious for exceeding the bitrate limits set prior to encoding, and I have noticed that 2.57 is much worse for this than 2.56, especially when using the "Constant Quality" option. I strongly suspect this might be the cause of your problem. Please let me know if you successfully resolve the matter.

it seems to work now, I just did the procedure with CCE instead of TMPGEnc.

But I have a question.

Why does the resulting mpg video processed in TMPGENc seem to have lost fluidity in scenes where there is a lot of action?

The video does not seem smooth at some times.

What could be the problem?

might be the setting that makes stills look good, but degrades the quality of slow pans (cant remember where that switch is, close to the matrix i think.
