Have just sucessfully authored my first NTSC DVD with a complex menu(usually do PAL). Everything is fine and dandy but on the standalone device (tried 3 different) the text on the still menus jitters up and down in a totally unacceptable way. It looks like some kind of interlace thing but that's just guessing. I prepared my .psds in 'shop at 720 x 480 with subpicture masks and all...anyone got any idea what may be happening here...text was rock solid in the old PAL days...

Also, is the default ReelDVD colour palette NTSC legal because the blue colour I used for the highlight is bopping around too...

soften your images a bit (blur, 0.2 f.e., you won't see the difference). It is related to interlacing...

JRDALLAS had this to offer in a much earlier post, advising on a similar problem. Does this mean that I just blur the text a bit in Photoshop ? Apologies if I seem lazy, it's hard for me to test things au moment because I have limited time only on someone elses machine...
