View Full Version : How to automize MPEG2AVI and AutoDIVX?

Hello.
I encode lots of vids and don't always want to sit in front of my computer to change settings for every movie or make changes in decoder settings for the second pass.
So is there a way to get MPEG2AVI and AutoDIVX working together in a batch file so that I can start the encoding process for lets say 3 vids and returning one or two days later?
I hope someone can help me.

Well, thatīs not a solution at all but:
1) Learn to use the DVD2AVI->MPEG2DEC.DLL->AVISynth way to transcode MPEG2 material to AVI instead of MPEG2AVI
2) Learn to use the joblist of Virtual Dub and/or AutoDub
3) You have everything you wanted ;)

Hmm...
I like Mpeg2Avi a lot, why should I change to DVD2Avi?
Moreover, I did find a solution for my problem: you create two batch files, one for AutoDivX and one for Mpeg2Avi.
You first run the AutoDivX.bat and then the Encoding.bat which will open the encoding-windows which will be changed by AutoDivX. Then the next AutoDivX-command is executed, waiting for the next windows to appear which will happen when the present encoding process is finished and the next appears... and so on... ;-)
Ok not the most confortable way, but works fine :)

Hmm, the download links don't seem to work... could you perhaps send me the GUI and the compare-utility to df7nw01@gmx.de?

I just love the way you ask for help from people ie "I like so an so proggie please help with this!" and what do they do they tell you to totally change programs or try some other method without giving you the answer to your original question!!! grrrrrr.
I am trying the automated process as well. So far I am using batch files to load dvd2avi(the commandline version), do it's stuff then run autodivx to auto select compression, then onto mpeg2avipx3 to encode video and hopefully figure out how to get besweet to do the ac3 > mp3 conversion through the batch as well.
Here's some links to help:
Mpeg2avi commandline go for px3
http://www.divx-digest.com/software/mpeg2avi.html
dvd2avi commandline:
the site: http://www.dvd2svcd.org/
the file:http://212.88.77.140/DVD2AVI%201.76%20Command-Line%
201.05.zip
I think you just download besweet the pack and it comes with all the azid n lame etc dll's that you need. I did a conversion then looked in the log and found the commandline info that I needed. I just changed the paths n stuff
Hope this helps and if not ......oh weeeeelll
:p ;) ;) :)

If you like m2a, you may try this
http://www.johnnyowl.com/adb/adb13.zip
This tool will give you .BAT file for every movie. You can edit and combine all .BAT into a single .BAT manually and there you go.

you can try the Reg-import and export way.
I have made pre-defined Bats, wich includes and exludes predefined REgs for the Divx-settings (e.g. 85%, 90%..).
So i can use these Bats to change the Divx5,02 settingst and for choosing the codec and closing the Codec-Window i use Divx4Auto.
I use this way to encode my DVB-REcords over night.
I you want more information it would be goog, when you can speak German, because its my native.
