Desperately need help here.
I'll just summarise how I make the audio files for my divx avi's. Use DVD2AVI Demux function to get my AC3 file. Then, I use Azid and AzidGUI to process the ac3 files into a wav file. I then fire up RazorLame to convert my wav file into mp3. Now the reason I use this workaround is because....
1. I once tried using Gordian Knot to do everything automatically (ie, encoding of video, audio and the muxing process) but I had a lot of problems.
2. I prefer to manually encode my mp3s, take note of its file size, and load it into Gordian Knot as my audio PRIOR to encoding my divx.
3. I have better ability to "tweak" the mp3 to my desired settings.
After going through all those trouble, I'll finalize my settings etc and prior starting the encoding of the movie, in Gordian Knot "Encoder" tab, I'll click on "Add Job" and in the "Audio 1" tab of the "DivX Encoding Control Panel", I'll adjust the "Delay" to the value on the AC3 file I got. This way, Gordian Knot will mux my mp3 to the avi according to the delay setting I gave it.
At this stage, I'm assuming Azid does NOT add the delay effect to the wav files it produces; it just makes the wav file with a delay value of 0. Correct me if I'm wrong here.
Now, here's the confusing part
I was trying out HeadAC3he to decode an AC3 for my divx, only to realise there's something quite confusing.
In Doom9's guide, he mentioned....
Press the Source file button and load your AC3 file. As you can see I demuxed this AC3 with DVD2AVI so it shows me the delay I have to apply to the audio (the DELAY -101ms part). HeadAC3he will automatically adjust the delay if you demux in DVD2AVI.
At this stage, I'm assuming HeadAC3he adds the delay effect to the wav/mp3s it produces.
The question is...since HeadAC3he carries on the delay to the wav file (which means if I encode the mp3 with this wav, my mp3 will be delayed too), do I still have to enter this delay value into Gordian Knot when I do my muxing?
Or should I just set the Delay value to 0 in Gordian Knot, given that HeadAC3he has already added the delay?
Sorry for the extremely long post, but I thought it'll be better to give all the details. :D
Thanks in advance.
