The video streams have different sampling rates (23,97600 vs. 23,97602)
W00T !?
yes I can read, but both .avis got 23,976 as framerate and I even did a direct stream copy with frame rate set to 23,976 on both files with the same result...
...so what's this about?

This shouldn't refuse files because of such a slight difference. If it also does, get the newest pre-release (German only) and change the framerate of both files to 23.976 explicitely.

I already changed the frame rate to 23,976... although both files had that framerate before...

But maybe VirtualDub has somethink like a rounding-issue. Try to set it with the 1.09-pre-release of AVI-Mux GUI. The worst which could happen is that it doesn't work either :p
You can also try to append the 2 files to one physical file with AVI-Mux GUI.

Hi-
I've run into that problem before. I know one way that will work, but it's kind of a pain in the ass to do. Convert them both to a different frame rate (like 25fps), append, and then when done change it back to 23.976fps.

Ok I am having this same problem that was described, I tried to append in avimux and I even changed the fps in the avi information before I tried to append it but it still pops up with an error and says that it cannot do it. The framerates are slightly different 23.97600 and 23.97604, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.

Hi-
You sure you did it right? Open the first one in Nandub, and set Video to Direct Stream Copy. The go Video-Frame Rate-Frame Rate Conversion-Change To (25.000) and then save it. Then do the same thing with the other one. Then open the first one (25fps now-and make sure you're still in Direct Stream Copy) and append the second one. Set Frame Rate back to 23.976 and save it. That should be all there is to it. I've done it several times recently with no problem.

Yes, I did that exactly as you said and it didn't work, oh well, I got frustrated and deleted all the files I wanted to join so I guess I'll just reencode them again, thanks anyhow. :)

Hi BoNz1, too late to help this time but I too used be plagued with this problem.
I now extract the audio separately and stick to using one program [eg nandub or vdub] when making the crops and use the same program to remerge and I haven't had the error in over 6 months. Using nandub and vdub with AVIs containing audio never did work very well for me and I believe Avery Lee specifically advises against it.
