View Full Version : Batch errors: all jobs start simultaneous

I was just trying my first batch run on my two PCs, but had a complete failure. I ripped 4 episodes of a TV series (that I have encoded before) to disk, using internal ripper.
When I started the batch per supplied icon, I got flodded with windows error boxes.

Also, multiple instances of DVD2SVCD start to pop up. I am trying to batch 5 episodes, but 3 instances of DVD2SVCD open. (4 and 5 probably run out of memory 256mb and give the errors) The 3 survivors open 3 instances of DVD2AVI and then the system comes to a halt. It's not supposed to start them all at once, is it?

What is going on or wrong? I have just skipped though all post with batch in them, but don't find this error anywhere. I am using Win98SE and got the same problems on two different machines, both using athlon XPs.

I just REMed out all jobs but one and rerun the batch. No problem, no errors so far, the job just started.

So I need to know how I can avoid to have the second job start before the first is finished.

Need help on this one...

I kept searching and found a clue in the advanced forum. This is a win98 problem it seems. A cure might be to put Start /wait in front of each Batch movie line. At least it stopped multiple starts of dvd2svcd. Till now it works, but it isn't through yet...
I'll update, if something goes wrong. Otherwise consider this a working solution to:
batch problem multiple instances error

yeah I have that 'Start /wait' stuff for win98 in the advanced reference in the batch encoding tips section.
