I was doing multiple encodes of the same chapter to create a svcd to test max bitrates. All I did was to repeatedly change the max bitrate and recover from video encoding. Then I moved the renamed mpg to another folder and created the test cd, using VCDeasy. Amazingly, some of encodes strobed (reversed field order), and some did not. Setting was "automatic" and all I did was recovering again and again. Seems the output either depends of frame rate or is a random error.
When I set to Type b, no errors occured.
