I am really stump... and need some advice...
At first I thought it was the recording software, then perhaps it is the media.. now I am all confuse and just lost. I really hope someone could shed some light for me.. please.
Here is my process, ripping entire DVD via DVDDecrypt. Ifoedit to play movie directly. If movie is too large, i have split it in 2.
Now, I have noticed pixelation of various sizes, colors and location on the screen, in different movies. Some minor, just a quick pixelation. Some major, like 12 time throughout the movie. I have been burning with Prassi Primo, switched over from Nero.
I have used TDKs, Verbatims, Judysdeals, Primedisc. Noticed the pixelation problem in all those DVD-R. But it does not happen to all the movies. Just some, and on various single or split DVDs.
Why is this pixelation happening? Is this a common problem that I have to accept? Or do I have just a bad media among the lot I have, occuring randomly? Anyone has any answers?
Much appreciated...

Could be your player. Take your best burnt media to an electronics store and test it there.

hmm, i have tested on 2 pioneers and a shinco. quick question though,
1. When you strip VOB IDs or stream, keeping only the movie or sound you want, does that affect playback?
2. Or stripping multiple times in Ifoedit, does that affect playback too?
3. This is in relatino to the question 2. What is the most stable ver of Ifoedit, in terms or stripping a movie in 2 etc?
Thanks again to all!

As for the first two: No.
I've only had quality problems when I actually did something to the video stream (i.e. using REMPEG rather than CCE).
All versions of Ifoedit have been stable for me in XP Pro.

You sound like you follow the same process I do, and I haven't seen any problems with pixelation. Generally I follow the two rules:
1) If it's under 4.3gb, I use use DVDDecrypter to create an ISO file and burn it with Prassi
2) If it's more than 4.3gb, I use SmartRipper to either remove foreign soundtracks, or split it in two. Then process it with IfoEdit, and make two disc images with IfoEdit after that. Last step, burn the discs with Prassi.
Both work fine on Apex 1500, 3201, Samsung DV-1000, Sony 330, Panasonic L50 portable, and DVD-ROM drive on PC.

I don't think it's something you have to live with. I would have suspected media problems, but TDK, Verbatim and PrimeDisc work fine on all my players.
You haven't noticed more with ISO burned than IfoEdit modified/created discs? Not knocking IfoEdit, just trying to narrow it down. (I LOVE IfoEdit - thank you Derrow!!!)

So it does not matter how many times you strip the SAME movie with Ifoedit? Or using Ifoedit to remove the stream or VOB IDs might cause some glitch somewhere during the waiting process?
Hmm.. only thing I have not really tried is to create an image first. I did not really see a difference between burning straight or ISO.. might give that a shot.
Also, would SmartRipper be a better choice for removing streaming or VOB IDs then Ifoedit? Just curious why you are using SmartRipper rather than Ifoedit to do the whole process. THANKS!

Can't tell you, I've never used IfoEdit to strip the same movie more than once.

I had a bunch of problems when I just dragged and dropped the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and burned. I've not had one problem since using the image method, although it chews up some extra time.

Again, couldn't tell ya - I always use SmartRipper when I need to split DVD's into two (or more!). Then fix it up with IfoEdit.
