Does someone now why this is? And what to do about it?
Firmware version of writer is 1.30

I think 2X speed can only be achieved by creating an image and burning from that.

...I was under the impression that you either need real 2X certified media or use hacked firmware to burn 2X

you need 2x media
it costs a lot more!
there is no hacked firmware..........yet!

Some crap media is not even good for 1x writing. Trying to do 2x writing on them would cause nothing but coasters!

yea, good media too. But in Nero it only gives me a 1X option for UDF/IFO but a 2x option is available for Image.
