View Full Version : Spruce Up Muxing Files

I have just started to use Spruce Up.

I created a .m2v (4GB)file with ReMPEG, (not the best I know, but I'm still learning CCE) and a .wav (1.3GB) using DVDAVI.

When Spruce Up compiled the files, the finished set was 5.3GB. Far to big to burn to a DVD-R.

I half suspected this would be the case, but thought that the audio would be merged into the video and still end up within the DVD-R limit.

Is there a way of "merging" files better than this, if not, how do you calculate the files sizes needed before you import them into Spruce UP ??

By the way, no problems with the finished movie, plays great on the PC, but that's not what I'm after of course.

Any suggestions please ??

unfortunately you are going to have to recompress either the video or the audio, and yes the m2v+ac3 is basically what the size of the project will compile too, plus a little bit for the menus, etc.

Use the BeSweet "suite" of audio tools to convert your .WAV file to either .MPA (MPEG1,LayerII) or .AC3. This will reduce the audio file to 25% of its present size - small enough that you should be able to compile a title set that will fit on a DVD-R.

Thanks guys,

I've still got a lot to learn, but it looks as if I'm at least on the right track.

I'll keep you posted.
