Need help on choosing video type

What is Small and best video?? AVI, DIVX, SVCD,VCD, DVD, what else...:rolleyes:

Depends on how you are planning on viewing the final video:

AVI (DIVX) - play on computer only - 1cd typically holds a normal length movie (around 90-100 mins) - create with GordianKnot program

VCD/SVCD - play on computer or standalone dvd player (most of them) - usually takes 2cds for 90-100 min movie - good quality - create with DVD2SVCD program

DVD - Play on computer or standalone dvd player - 1cd per movie - great quality - need dvd burner to create. (don't create myself so don't know best way)

Hey but what if I make a dvd 4.37 to AVI or DIXV.. how big will it be, when its avi or dixv:sly: :scared:

Smaller.:p[list=1] Video resolution is usually reduced
Only a single angle of the video stream is used
Usually, only one progam chain is used
Audio is often transcoded with fewer channels and/or at a lower bitrate[/list=1] Read through any of the guides, you'll see the process used. Using DivX/AVI and Doom9's guides, you'll see that you pick the final size.

So... what do you think is best?I can burn dvd-r and cdr.. so I will pick any.. but I don't know how to burn dvd-r movies

Try them yourself, and see which you like best.

It depends on what you actually want out of the movie. If you want multiple angles, special features, heaps of audio tracks (i.e. different languages), menus, and really good picture quality - i would go for dvd.

if you only need the actual movie, 1 or 2 audio tracks, then you can for divx (avi).

or, you could go to vcd, the quality is alright (svcd is better...but the size is bigger as well), you can only have the actual movie and 1 or 2 audio tracks. BUT the advantage over divx is that you can play it in ur standalone player on ur tv.

so if u want to watch it on ur standalone player, then go for dvd or vcd. if u dont care for awesome quality and heaps of features, u could make a vcd dvd and have more than one movie on one dvd. if ur watching it on computer, then i would go for divx...as its easy...but u lose quality etc.
