Probably because there is a space in your folder name - "DVD temp"

I think your problem is at audio extraction.
Your extraction only takes 17 sec and made only a small file of ~2MB. So check your Extracted_audio_1.mpa if this file is correct, I think not.

What is the total length of the .avi that you are trying to convert? It appears to me that it you are only doing a very small clip. Is this correct?

I seem to have the same problem. Is there a minimum runlength for avi's to be transcoded?

Strange as it is, I've read of a number of people having issues with very short clips. Theoretically I don't think there is a minimum, but there must be a catch somewhere that fouls things up. The plus side is that most of the time such an error occurs, we're just practicing something and it's not the main encode we're trying to do. Just try doing the entire video and see what happens...

I think I just found the problem. The problem is, that the transcoded audiofile is _NOT_ there. Instead there is an error-message in there corresponding logfile:

Error 72: In order to encode a Mono inputfile, download Mono2Stereo Plugin :
http://DSPguru.doom9.org/effects.html

Looks like BeSweet denies transcoding if a mono-wav-file has been extraced from the avi.

I wonder if the author of DVD2SVCD is aware of this behaviour.

Hi,
i have the same problem, and my avi-file is a mono file, too. Have someone
a solution for this problem? Or is that an general problem in DVD2SVCD?

there are 2 ways to solve problem:

a.) download the besweet-plugin mentioned in the logfile
(I personaly coulnd get it workin somehow....)
b.) use another soundediting software to convert the mono-wav-file to a stero one. (e.g.: cooledit)

then use the recovery-feature of DVD2SVCD and start over at the point when it comes to the multiplexing-process. This worked for me.

I did a second capture with virtualdub, this time i selected audio as 44,1 khz 16 bit stereo.
I ran it through DVD2SVCD this time it didnt deliver any error but the sound in the muxed file vas terrible, only "hissing" and "cracking".

Is this a step closer to solving the mystery or what?

Afaik virtualdub has problems to convert SampleRates.

Try to find out, if the extraced, raw WAV-File already has this unwanted noises. If so, virtualdub is your problem. If not the problems lies somewhere inbetween BeSweet-audio-transcodig and the muxing-process.

Hi,

when listening to (dvd2svcd created files) the Extracted audio sounds ok, listening to the Enconded audio gives that porly result so virtualdub canīt be the problem.

This sounds strange.

If you have trouble in playing back mp2-files on your machine, I would suggest to do this on a different or newly installed, clean system which has the apropriate power.

Or maybe some other software interferes your transcoding session. who knows.....
