Getting around missing IFO file

I have ripped a DVD that I no longer have using the "Rip Only" mode of DVD2SVCD but for some reason the IFO file is non-existant. DVD2SVCD in recover mode just tells me theres a file missing. There must be a way around this to set some things up manually? What kind of settings does DVD2SVCD need the IFO file to set? Is it just the audio? I'd appreciate any information offered...

You can use IfoEdit to recreate the .ifo file from the VOBs, assuming they were ripped properly. I did it once and it worked. Good luck.

This method seems to have worked, although now DVD2SVCD is reading the aspect ratio at 4:3 instead of 16:9. I got very confused once in IFOedit since I really havent had to look into the program at all yet...hopefully I will figure it all out, if not ill be back ;)

(if all else fails ill just end up encoding it to divx or xvid)

This is what I've noticed with ripping first and then encoding later. If you rip first, do not open the vbo or ifo files in the "conversion" tab in dvd2svcd. if you do, the ifo file will disappear.

What you do after you've ripped the dvd (using internal ripping) is to go to the "misc" tab and click the "recover" button. then it will give you "from the beginning" in the box next to recover and then click the "continue" button. this has worked perfectly.

I notice this also, a bug somewhere, perhaps!?

I have had a couple of problems with version 1.0.9 B3 with the ifo file disapearing after dvd2svcd stopped running because of errors, ran out of hard disk space etc and the ifo file had been removed to the recycle bin, could be due to an error in dvd2svcd
