playback ac3-files with winamp 2.xx

Hi,
is there a way to playback ac3-files with Winamp (2.8)?
I downloaded a ac3-plugin in_ac3 (from ac3decode819-package).
Doesn`t sound good though.

Is there a better way to do this?

I got ac3-sound files from a music video dvd. I want to keep the audio (ac3 2.0) without recompressing. There does not seem to be a player that plays ac3-audio.

Or is there a player?
Does that mean, I have to transcode the audio in order to play it?

A software DVD player such as PowerDVD or WinDVD should playback the AC3 file.
