What is the search sector adjustment in file mode?
Show ALL or Search? When should I use one or other Option?

This only applies to File mode.
Showing all of them will just save you the time of having to wait for the program to search the vob files to see which streams exist.
The more sectors you let it seach, the more chance it has of finding all the streams that are actually present in the vob.
I found 50,000 to be about right. You could go higher, you could go lower. The choice is yours.

So, If I am ripping in 'File Mode' and I select Ctrl-A for all files, is it possible that you may not find all the streams that belong in that VOB file? More specifically, in "file-mode", is it possible to not find an AC3 soundtrack for that VOB, and end up with a silent VOB?

Ive never seen it not find an audio stream. A subtitle stream perhaps, but then they often start a long way into the file.
Is there any reason for you not to use IFO mode and its stream processing capabilities?

You really dont want to be doing the ctrl-a thing and then stripping streams. It will just scan the first vob file - the video_ts.vob
You need to do it one vts set at a time, and unselect the VTS_XX_0.VOB - because that is just the menu.

I was attempting to rip the entire DVD to the hardrive in order to complete the CCE/Ifoedit process at a later time.

The Doom9 DvdDecryptor guide uses file mode...

"You have to rip everything but the main movie VOBs (VTS_02_1.VOB, VTS_02_2.VOB up to VTS_02_7.VOB) to your harddisk in DVD Decrypter's file mode (pressing F will switch to file mode, then select all files minus the mentioned ones and press the rip button)."

Instead of ripping everything but the main movie, I ripped the entire DVD in file mode, hoping that I could complete the CCE/Ifoedit process when I had more time (but no longer had access to the DVD).

Question #1
Would it have been easier to have used ISO mode/Daemon tools, and then use IFO mode to 'rip each PGC separately' from a mounted image?
(What is the best way to rip an image for later use, without the need for the original?)

Is it possible to rip individual PGC's from a hard drive image of a DVD, that was ripped in file mode using DVDDecryptor?

Yes, probably.

Answer #2:
Only if you use the ISO method. DVD Decrypter only works from physical/virtual dvdrom drives. It doesnt read 'files', it reads 'sectors'.
