im using Uleads DVD Workshop to author my DVDs, but i am finding its taking a very long time to convert the DVD complient MPeg-2, but then again i have nothing to compare to.
I am running a P4 1.6Gig, 512Mb RAM, 40Gig 7200rpm. Win XP Pro
Could anyone tell me there average time to author an Mpeg to DVD.
Thanks

just read my post an reaslised the lack of information that i provided.
The Mpeg is 3 Gig, converting at 4000. Its now at 50% after 15 hours?
is this normal, or is there a chance that my Mpeg-2 isn't dvd complient and its changeing it on the fly.
The MPG was taken from a DivX, wav was taken and AVI converted to MPG, then Multiplexed back together in TMPGEnc. Is there any special steps that i should be aware of.
Sorry if this is a bit newbie, but my original post was just for personal interest.

drewazoid,
Interesting thread, I too have DVD Workshop (won as a prize), so am looking to use it for authoring.
I have imported a *.m2v file no problem, but am having problems with audio.
I'm thinking about importing *.ac3 file, but not sure if it supports this or is it just *.wav files (these are huge)
Why are you converting the MPEG2 files ??
Exactly what file type are they ?
I thought (in fact I know) DVD workshop will import MPEG2 compliant files direct.
