Hi,

I know..this question will very often but I hope my is a little bit different. I ripped in the last three days two movies.

First I ripped Unbreakable (2 CD SBC AC3). I wanted round about 1,4 GB but it was only 1,1 GB. So I wonder if I saw that the difference between the final rip file. The difference are the same like the size of the AC3-Stream. But the AC3-Stream is already in the rip.

Next I ripped The Haunted (2 CD SBC AC3). I wanted the sames results. But the same like by Unbreakable. I only reached 1 GB and the difference between final rip file and 1,4 GB are the size of the AC3-Stream. But the AC3-Stream is already in.

Why could this happen and always the same results of difference. I ripped always the same way and I get my results and now ?

What could it be ?

I hope some nŽknow about this problem...300-400 MB difference is a lot.

The bitrate for these movies could simply be saturated meaning that you reached the best possible quality. Or maybe you need to up the bitrate. Maybe you used too small a resolution (even though this won't directly affect file size). Quite a few things can affect the final file size. Try encoding 1 pass 100% quality and see what the filesize is.
