Motion Menu/Chapters question in Adobe Premiere, After Effect

Hi....can somebody help me with this question.

1. How come the file that I compile and export at wokr looks smoother and better. Comparing to the video clip that I compile and export at home. The video clip that i made at home looks like it's interlacing looks really bad comparing to the clip that i made at work. It looks really good.. but the picture in picture plays really fast though. That would be my 2nd question.

2. Why do my video clips after exporting from After Affect plays really fast...fast then the original. I made a video clip using picture in picture, with a picture in the background and video clips on top. But the video clips plays really fast....

3. I also try with Premiere...after i have build and export my motion chapters into avi. The picture looks really bad, even the picture background. It looks really blurry. The video clips on top of the picture looks bad..not clear and smooth...eventhough the video clip is dvd quality. Anybody knows why ???

I guess nobody can answere my question then. But then I have to ways to work around in Premiere and After Effect but then those 2 programs kept on freezing on all the time....I HATE IT !!!...But does anybody have any suggestion on any other programs that would compile a motion menu/chapters ?????

Perhaps if you actually told us what settings you were using to export/render, then it might be POSSIBLE for someone to offer a suggestion or two. As it is, you've really given us nothing to go on.

Also. what is your source footage? Are you trying to use MPEG source footage?

Ohh ok I am sorry about that..Ok well I demux vob into .m2v and then rename it to .mpg because Premiere an After Effect takes that in. I cut my .mpg into 20 sec. And while in Premiere/After Effect I just click and drag my assets into the timeline and edit. After editing I just save and render to export as default. While redering both programs hang on me..

Hmmm, have you tried performing the same procedure but with the MPEG source footage first converted to AVI? It's not really ideal to edit MPEG in this manner, although 'm not implying that it's impossible. I believe you would get better results by creating true AVI source footage (after all, we're only talking about short clips here, for menus, aren't we?), and then compositing the AVI stuff within AAFX or Premiere, to be output in AVI and then transcoded into MPEG2 using Cinamacraft or TMPGEnc (preferably the latter).
