AVI2SVCD and the Sound @ 44'100 hz

When i use AVI2SVCD function of DVD2AVI, and my Source-DivX is encoded for exemple @ 96 kb/s & 44'100 Hz.

Is it usefull to take an "Audio bitrate" higher than 96k ?
Do i have to check "Audio downsample 48 -> 44,1" ?

Beccause usually i don't downsample 48->44,1 . But here i wonder waht happend if i check, or if i don't check.

Do u have an Idea ?

The encoded audio won't be better than the source, so there sure is no need to do an audio conversion at 224kb. But as DivX 96kb isn't the same quality as MPEG1-LayerII 96kb there maybe is an advantage to encode at a little higher bitrate, e.g. 128kb.
btw: Is the sound of your DivX really also divX or is it another format?

The sound is MP3 96K for the DivX. And at @ 44'100 hz.

Ok so, i have to encode at 96 k or maybe 128k. But what about the " 48 -> 44,1 downsample" ?

Do i have to check it ? Beccause it's already at 44,1. If i check it, will Lame or Azid see that and skip this ?

And if i doesn't check it ? Will Lame/Azid let the original frequence, or do they "upsample" it at 48 Mhz ?

I know that in both case it wil surely works, but i'am intersted in the way it will be done.

Don't check 48 > 44.1, it will not recognize that the audio is already in 44.1, and it will do it again, wasting a good deal of time.
