I have a small question .

Witch is the best configuration:

-Quarter pixel
-GMC

or

-Quarter pixel
-GMC
-Psychovisual Enhancement - normal

------------------------------------------------------------
Its really necessary use -Psychovisual Enhancement - normal
visual quality gain is visible in human charcters in normal fims ?

My films today is -Quarter pixel +GMC
futher maybe use -Psychovisual Enhancement - normal ?
Opinions .

thanks

first off, leave q pel alone. It causes more problems than its worth and puts a heavy load on the cpu. As for the other options, B-Frames is a definite one. It improves compressibility without any quality loss. GMC doesnt do much, but leave it on anyway :) As for PV, its personal preferance. In theory it discards data which the eye can't see but it can make the movie look worse. Try it yourself.

I can only repeat what BluDChyLD said:

You should use b-frames unless you only encode at 100% quality setting, you want the best possible without compromises and you don't care for size at all - however, even then you could use b-frames and I bet you wouldn't see a big difference, but the files would be 20% smaller.

GMC helps a little bit for better compressibility, some people say they experience playback-bugs with gmc. I don't, so I always use it.

Don't use Q-Pel, it only uses huge amounts of CPU on playback.

You have to test Psy-vis. Usually, it's not good. Sometimes you don't see any difference. Sometimes it helps with covering up artefacts and sharpening edges (IMO it sometimes looks like edge-enhancement)
