Skulls 2 - very dark

This is a dark movie, but my Divx 5.02 pro version turned out even darker.
I am using the default settings with psychovisuals on normal.

When playing back with Zoom player and BS player the brightness 7 contrast seting have no effect.

I encoded using the usual route: Gordian, bicubic resize, smart deinterlace (region 4 PAL movie)etc.

Any suggestions as to how I can make this ovie look more like the original?

Hi-

You could always brighten it up before encoding by getting Donald Graft's Tweak Filter (http://sauron.mordor.net/dgraft/tweak/tweak13.zip), loading the plugin, and inserting something like Tweak(Bright=1.3) into the .avs.
