Does anyone know of a website to purchase a firewire to IDE bridge to convert an internal hard drive to an external firewire drive?

Best Buy sells an enclosure setup, but it's over-priced and the performance is lacking...only 16-17 MB/s transfer rate.

I have inquired at an online distributor which sells 2 different types (17MB/s and 100MB/s), but I don't think they sell in the USA. Here is the link (http://www.deltrontech.com/Firewire/1394IDE/F-IDE.htm) to just the bridge boards. They also sell an enclosure setup, and I mailed them to see which board it uses (no response yet).

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

A company calls CalOptic offers an Internal FireWire converter, to convert any IDE (ATA/ATAPI) to FireWire device internally.

They demo their P3-500, 128MB RAM, 30GB, 7200rpm IBM HDD runs under Win2K at a computer show in LA, CA with Internal FireWire devices installed on Pioneer 104 DVD-R, Pioneer 116 DVD-ROM, LiteON 1630 DVD-ROM, and TEAC CDW540E daisy chain into a FireWire PCI card

This computer burns CDRW at 40x, DVD-R at 2x, ripping a movie and watch a movie the same time, while showed CPU hoovering at 65-75%. I mean the movie plays perfect no jerking motion at all

CalOpitc rep even said: Full money back guarrantee, if you don't like or it does not work.

They even have a recommend letter from Symantec Corporation

So there your can have your FireWire internal converter (http://www.caloptic.com) instead external.
