AVI to d2v gordain knot | Video capture

Hi,
I need some help maknig a D2v file from an existing avi. Ok now you may be asking why avi to d2v? well after capturing to huffy from tv/video it would be pretty cool to import this "Avi" and use the great features of Gknot to do all the work? Any help ?

Unfortunately Darksoul's method doesn't make use of GordianKnots cropping / resizing preview. I'd love to have AVI support in GKnot, too...

Damn !!! looks like i will have to try and program my own "Gordain knot" :D right after i solve the "world peace" problem! :p;) Thanks for the reply guys.

I found this in my HD, but I can't remember where I got it:

"What is AVI2DivX ?
It´s a resolution and bitrate calculator but with a special
background. Many modern capture cards or graphic adapters with
VIO (Video In & Out) capture at "non square" pixel formats.

For example the successfull NVidia GeForce family captures at a
max res of 720x576 (PAL) respectively 720x480 (NTSC). When you
convert those captures to DivX/AVI (with square pixels) the same
calculations has to be done as for DVD rips.

For DVD there is a great tool called Gordian Knot but unfortunately
this tool doesn´t support AVI as input. TheWef will add AVI in a
future version and then AVI2DivX will become unnecessary but for now
GKnot doesn´t support AVI. :)

Why did I write AVI2DivX ?

Because of the reason discribed above. I still have tons of VHS tapes
that I convert to DivX. Since DivX4 came out I´ve switched to DivX
instead of using DivX 3.11 (SBC). So GKnot came down to a bitrate and
resolution calculator.

To say it clearly: AVI2DivX is NOT A COMPETITOR to Gordian Knot. I made
this only as a help as long GKnot doesn´t support AVI sources."

I downloaded that soft from some thread here a few days ago, but it doesn't support visual cropping/resizing either.
