In reference to ripping the dvd while using smart ripper. I previously had windows ME os and when I ripped the dvd it would consistently rip the vobs at about 3x to sometimes 5x speed through out the entire process. I now have windows xp home edition installed and when I rip using the same method, for the first 50% it’ll rip very fast at about 4 to 5x speed. But when it hits either 49 to 50%, it’ll automatically for some damn reason go down to 1.9x speed for the remainder of the rip. Anyone else experience anything similar to this?
I checked to see if DMA is enabled in both IDE controllers’ properties and they are. I think the primary is running at Ultra DMA mode 4, and the secondary is at DMA mode 2, or it could be the other way around, I’m not at my other computer right now.
Just curious to know if any of you experience this ripping pretty fast for the first 50% then it’ll go down to slow speed, as for me 1.9x speed for the last 50% of the rip.
