I guess I must've missed something, but where did the XviD filter properties panel go in recent versions? After installing Koepi's 8/8 build or uManiac's 8/12 build, all I see when I choose filter properties during playback is an XviD logo, no Brightness slider or post-processing checkboxes. The last build that I have with these options is Koepi's 6/30 build.
I'm using WMP 6.4 on Win2K, if that helps...

@madgat
You're right, XviD DirectShow Filter is not included in the recent builds. You can consider using ffdshow playback filter making the necessary changes in the settings (Codecs-> "XVID" and "Decode using XviD" are both ticked / Miscallenous-> "IDCT: XviD" selected). You can also enable post-processing and set a level by moving the slider.
You can download ffdshow filter from Doom9's downloads -> filters section.

You probably miss Nic's filter (the one with deringing etc). I couldn't find a way to get the file out of the installer file so I uninstalled xvid, installed the old build with the filter, copied 'xvid.ax' out of \winnt\system32, uninstalled, reinstalled the new build and copied 'xvid.ax' back into system32. A simple regsvr32 xvid.ax in a cmd-box later and everything works. Just remember to keep the file somewhere unless you want to do it again next time. :-)
NB: there is probably a reason Koepi removed the filter, but I haven't noticed any problems playing xvids encoded with newer builds (I haven't tried b-frames).

Okay, thanks to both of you for the help.
