getting rid of copyright stills?

i authored a dvd (friends season 1, disc 1, NTSC) and ran ifoupdate to put them in the original DVD structure. now when i do HD playback it opens up to the copyright stills instead of the menu. how do i rip these stills?

i tried running ifoedit and opening VIDEO_TS.IFO and then went to "menu extras" but when i tried to rip it only gave me VOBID 1 (so i obviously can't strip that). i believe the copyright stills are PGCs in VTS_04, and if i don't include VTS_04 in my DVD it won't play. i also can't run "menu extras" on VTS_04_0.IFO because it causes ifoedit to crash.

how can i make it so it doesn't play the copyright stills when the dvd starts up? i'm not too concerned about actually stripping them, just so that they don't play when the dvd starts (although stripping them would be nice, too)

Make a dummy VOB file and replace it with VOB #4. I'm not sure the best way to do this, but Maestro makes dummy VOBs when it authors for me so I just save it for times like these.

Burn to a DVD-RW so you don't accidentialy make a coaster, though.

hrm, well i figured it out before i read your post and what i did was:

since the stills were in VTS_04, i opened up the VTS_04 IFO file in ifoedit and went to "vob extras" and then checked "strip vobid's" and then i kept only the ones i wanted to keep (took out the copyright warnings, etc.) and it worked like a charm.

so while i can't confirm if your method works, this one seems pretty easy to do. thanks for your input, though. i appreciate it. :]
