Well, the initial .mpg svcd file will convert. But once I burn as a SVCD the resulting .mpg svcd file is rejected by Tmpg for conversion. Is there any way around this? I ask because many are only on svcd cdr and i deleted the original .mpg file. thanks.

You can try to demultiplex the file first then load each stream seperately.

For me too it seems that (depending on the authoring program) the mpg-files copied from SVCD can't be used directly.
Demux them and use DVD2AVI.

thanks. that seems to work for one set of svcd files (although the other was still not compatible even after i demuxed it).

In fact the mpg file on the CD is not the same as on the HD. One should convert it back to "normal" mpg using isobuster or vcdxrip which is included in VCDEasy. Try it.
