Just wanted to know...:)
(I hope I picked the right ages...)

Dammit, as of last week I've reached the end of your scale...

I'm getting old ;)

Koepi

Bad scaled.
Seems like I'm the grandpa here though. Makes me understand why I get upset about certain people - they act as they are "supposed to" in their age...

I absolutely agree with Koepi:
Very bad scale, because next year i will get 40!

anyway, greetz, Uli

hehe, thx uli, now I know I'm definatly not the grandpa (don't want to dissapoint you here, it's just that you're still 13 years older ;) )

Best regards,
Koepi

is it worth me adding to the 'grandpa' bar?

btw, this forum software usually has birthday announcements and a calendar, but doesnt seem to be in this custom implementation.

(I hope I picked the right ages...)

I guess not...

I mean, recently I was thinking that it seems like I'm one of the young guys on this board, but still I'm 3 years off your scale ;)

You start the scale with 15 - I bought my first computer when I was 17 :)

@theReal 17... you can't live without a PC in school any longer, we need to do Powerpoint presentations and collect information from the web, so I thought 15 would be the minumum

@all right, now I see... but I can't change the poll (moderators only?)

Yup, I'm up in that 'grandpa range' myself. Started working with computers when most of you were just born! My first computer was an S-100 System. 4K of memory was a circuit board the size of a cereal box.

I'm well off the scale (22+)

I think there should be increments of 5 yrs ending at 65 at least.(gives me a bit of lea way anyway)

Yep five year step would have been better.
I feel like an old man, now :( (even if I'm only 25)

who'd set up a poll for us
having another leg already in the grave...?

and perhaps next for 'how many kids'.
how about grandchildren ;-)

im 25

im still alive

and i want some god damn answer's

my first computer wasnt mine but a friend who just used to use the newsgroup's for .jpg's and make sign's/graphics from 90-93. It was ok. You might remember some of the picture's off alt.binaries.erotica.teen at that time. Remember the overly popular girl in the blue and white cheerleader uniform that said SHS on the front. Strange how that is the only thing i can remember from the early 90's with computer's. She was cute though.

im still young, so are you mister 40 something's.
:-)

Well, I turn 30 next month (god, I feel old:mad: ), and I'm currently using my 6th computer in 18 years. Got the first one, a C=64, in 1984. Moved to Amiga500+ in '91. Got my first PC in '95, and since that first P90 I've also had a P200, Athlon 750 and my current Athlon 1100.

Well...im pretty much in the middle of the 'pollable' ages...18...but the poll should have been in like 5 year increments or something...its probably a bit late to change now...although you could do it.

My first computer was a laptop ages ago (4 or so years...so probably not that long ago...it fell apart...literally), and my second one is a desktop that i use now (1 1/2 years old and still going strong). But i have been using computers since c64s and stuff....just for games though :) and then into dos when 286's came around.

well according to the poll I'm the youngest one here. Figure it out :P

my first comp was this NEC thing from like 95, although the first one I actually owned was the Vaio I bought a year and a week ago.

It should have done the poll with other ages, but I didnt' have an idea what ages to take, so I took the ages I was familiar to talk to in the web...
Couldn't some moderator (Acaila, Koepi, neuron2, auenf...) change the poll??? I can't!!!

Well I guess I'm one step away from the ancient category (39). My first computer was a comodore vic 20. A whopping 3k of memory but I did have the gigantic 16k memory expansion board. It came with a tape drive for storage. Took about 1/2 hour to load and save a program. For you "oldies", remember spending hours typing in programs from magazines only to have to spend hours going through line by line to find all your typos to make it work. Wow, we have come a long way.

I wrote my first computer program in 1966.

But don't tell anyone or they'll think I'm old. ;)

Your scale needs some help, dude! I am SO old I remember working in a room like this. I used to mount the hard discs on removable drives.
I also built the first 8080 microcomputer from a kit and had to load the bootstrap program by entering via toggles on the front panel.

I guess l should have died twenty years ago... but I am having too much fun ripping and burning to give up now :-)

:D

There is (was?) at least one poll with the same theme... Do a forum search and vote there ;) .

And I cannot change it without ruining it, better to search for the old one (I think it was Poopity Poop who did it) than ruining this one.

Cheers,

Mijo.

an admin or this forum moderator are the only ones that can change it.

hi, wow - there's some people here that are around the same age as my "old dears". god knows i love them but i wish they were as enlightened as you guys and started to backup dvd's. mind you, i'd have to get them to buy a dvd player first. ;) . and upgrade the beast of a 286 they own, ahem. :D

oh, 26 years for me.
