problems with latest dvd decrypter

i have just updated to the latest version of dvd decrypter the problem i have now is when i go ahead and decrypt any dvd movie i end up with aload of chapter documents in my video ts folder and for some reason i cant create ifos with my ifo edit program ,are the default settings the same as the last version can anybody help i never had one single hassle with the last version , which by the way i would be very grateful for any body still using the last version to send me that way i know i wont have any night mares for sure cheers.

Have no fear my friend, version 3.1.2.1 will be release within a day or two. This fixes all the problems you're having.
In the mean time, just rename the vob files it creates to remove the PGC_XX bit in the file name. IFOEdit cant cope with that there. :(

I don't know about IFOedit but I had some problems with the IFO files generated by DVD decrypter 3.1.2.0 and xmpeg 4.5. Xmpeg cannot open these IFO files. Then I changed the settings and chose Aspi for ripping. This seemed to be the solution because after that xmpeg opened the IFO file. This happened only once. The IFOs from another movie I tried to rip could not be opened as well. I thought that this was yet another xmpeg bug, but then I switched back to version 3.1.1.0 and this problem hasn't appeared again.

cheers pal i think youre right ive tried an older version though and it keeps saying cant detect scsi/atapi devices can you help and could you please e mail me the last version of dvd decrypter (3.1.1.0) would be very grateful

Erm Hello?!? I believe I mentioned the problem in my last response.
The IFO files are no different between 3.1.2.0 and 3.1.1.0 so that cannot be the cause.
Its down to the naming of the vob files.

VTS_XX_PGC_XX_X.VOB

The above doesnt work.

Rename it to VTS_XX_X.VOB

cheers mate i have downloaded dvd decrypter 3.1.1.0 but i am still having the same problem when activating it no devices detected comes up (no scsi/atapi devices) can you rescue me

I'm not as familiar as UK lightning to this stuff but I'll give it a shot
In the settings menu there is a card which says which dll you want DVD decrypter to use. ASPI or ASAPI. I may be wrong but in the new version 3.1.2.0 there is also the option to use the native NT library(if you are using winXP or 2000) Anyway maybe you have selected the asapi.dll which you don't have? Maybe you don't have aspi.dll?
You can download aspi here (http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?sess=no&cat=%2fProduct%2fASPI-4.70&prodkey=Windows+ASPI+Package) after installing it then select this dll for extracting your files. Anyway if that doesn't work I don't have a clue what else could be. When you find a solution eventually please post it. I'd really like to know.

cheers pal i have messed about with the settings and it now works bang on also i have done what ligtning says with renaming the vob files and and i can now create ifos with the ifo edit program then go on to making dvds again
