Hi
I'm going crazy about that. For no noticeable reasons my burnings (Pioneer DVDR-A03 with Nero 5582 , DVD Player Tokai) doesn't work all the time. I mean if i burn 2 DVD from the same movie, the second could work whereas the first not. I don't really know why. I've noticed the problem always happens at the end of the movie (last chapter). I can't access to the last chapter, it freezes then stops. Anybody get an explanation about that? When i check it all from my hard drive before burning everything is fine. I think for myself that it could be the media which is not quite good in quality... I use DVD-R General Purposes first generation.
thanks

Bends,
If you're not getting any burn errors, I'd definitely look into the media. Have you downloaded ADVDinfo and checked the discs to see who the manufacturer is? Could give you some clues.

can you play back the ENTIRE movie on your dvd-rw drive?
i agree with the last poster, get ADVDinfo and find out what kind of discs you really have.

Decent quality media doesn't not have to mean expensive. I've been having GREAT success with PrimeDisc media and it's now about $1.30 a disc (in the US).

bends666,
My personal recommendation: PrimeDisc DVD-R
I've been getting them from Shop4Tech. If you buy them in the 100 disc pack, they are as cheap as $1.29. I just bought the combo pack last night, 100 discs with 100 cases and the discs were $1.24 each (and $.25 for the DVD case). Not a bad deal for $1.49, a good DVD-R and DVD case.
I use them exclusively for Video. Made about 400 DVDs. I've yet to have a issue with the PrimeDisc. (Can't say the same for DVDPro, Meritline, CDRecordable, or some others). But ask around, I know others have their favorites too. My 2cents are in....
sarahjh69, question for ya: I've been playing with some Princo DVD-RW discs (bought a 10 pack for $1.00 each). They play on most of my DVD players, but I've noticed they are 'slower' than PrimeDisc or Silver DVDs. For example, if I click to jump to the next chapter point, it takes a few seconds. For regular discs, its nothing. Just wondering if you see the same thing with Datasafe DVD-RW. Again, like you, I haven't had any burn errors, but just noticiing differences in performance.
