ripping the madonna - downed world tour i got stuck with a nice (little) problem; i encoded everything ( audio and video) at least 3 times but it doesn't help onw bit:
i got my avi file working just fine
AND i got my mp3 file... also working ...
the only problem is they've got a different length. and i mean not just one or two minutes missing at the beginning of the track... but about 40 min... i checked the whole audio file and didn't notice one song missing!
anybody got some idea what this problem might be or how to solve it??

windows media player problem, did you encode a ac3 file? When I check mp3 movie sound in wmp it tells me its 30 minutes long ! For some reason it (I think) judges the length of the mp3 track by dividing the size of the file by the original ac3 bitrate. Don't worry though you can go ahead and mux the files in nandub. Winamp should give an accurate length though.

i didn't even open the file in the wmp. i first muxed it without checking the length at all and discovered the problem when the sound only fit for the first song but got more and more delayed the longer the movie played...
and then i opened the mp3 file in winamp and it displayed the track length with 40 min less. then i checked the ac3 file length in PowerDVD XP and it displayed the same length again!
kind of confusing isn't it?!
:(

thx for trying to help anyway :)
