I purchased my Dvd-r unit to back up my extensive Anime collection (which is becomming expensive to replace every time my 8 year old son accidentally throws the dvd across the room).

Most of the dvds copy straight as they are almost exclusively dvd5.

However, when trying to backup my Cowboy Bebop series I found that I would have to resort to putting 3 episodes per disk (instead of the original 4 or 5).

This isn't so much a problem, I ripped the vobs and pulled out the parts I didn't like with Vobedit, and put them back together.

I used IfoEdit to create a new ifo for the new set of vobs and when watching the episodes straight there is no problem.

The problem occurs when I want to skip ahead. If for instance I am in the 3rd section of the second episode, and I hit forward, it will go to the 4th section of the first episode. The only way I can get to a track that is past the first episode is to hit forward without stopping that number of times, then it will load.

This problem could be avoided I believe if I could create an ifo file that included the three separate vob sets (rather than having me rename them all to one set).

But in anycase, I hope this isn't an issue where the only solution is to re-author as I don't like having to hassle with pulling subtitles out and putting them back in etc.

ideally I could just grab the vobs that have the episodes, rename them so they are sequential (in case there was a set of extras or something in between I want to get rid of) and create a new ifo for all of them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

ohh, and not that it makes much difference, but PowerDVD doesn't have this problem, it works perfectly.

I ended up going the hard route. I pulled everything apart, then put it back together (Man I hate ripping subtitles on anime, there are always tons of cells with no text and garbled graphics when ripping with subrip, so you have to ocr).

I did notice that when doing the subtitles, in order to keep them in sync I had to set MaestroSBT to 29.97 in and 30 out.

In anycase, if someone figures out what my problem was, please let me know as it would save me a ton of work doing it the hard way.
